Work on athletes directly after graduating from our program by specializing in sports modalities! We teach all of our students a basic variety of sports and event techniques as well as treatment massage, and once you graduate and get into the workforce you can decide never to do a “spa” style massage again!
Massage therapists are becoming more important for professional athletes, and many teams bring a massage therapist along when they travel, or hire local therapists when they get to an event location. Massage therapists are often on the other side of the finish line of a marathon, working on runners after they cool down. They might work on swimmers before, between, and after their competition events for a long day. They might even travel with a basketball team and work closely with physical therapists and doctors to make sure the entire team stays in perfect shape for their big game.
How does the program work?
We are continuously running classes, starting 4 to 5 groups each year. When you start the program, you will attend 4-hour classes 4 days per week.
After 3 months, you will also join the student clinic where you gain supervised hands-on practice with the public once per week, meeting the state requirement for licensure.
You would also attend one volunteer chair massage day, where we offer free chair massages at different community events.
